But net neutrality is more likely to repel the kind of investment necessary if we&#039;re going to improve broadband speeds. That is, if restrictions are placed on the pipes, especially the Dorgan-Snowe bill which makes it against the law to charge for packet prioritization, that would scare off investors who want to see a return on that investment. I consult for Hands Off the Internet, and this is something I see quite a bit -- the regulation not only isn&#039;t necessary, it would actually have a detrimental effect on the industry.
