Unpredictable. Unfocused. Just like life.

As I mentioned yesterday, I'm looking for a new opportunity. I particularly enjoy product management/marketing, but I also have a software engineering background. I thought I'd post a little about me - a cover letter essentially - so that people can see what I offer:

I have a history of effectively managing software and hardware products and product lines - understanding customer business needs and building the right solutions on time and within budget - in multiple lines of business. I have achieved this by listening to customers, building relationships with them, working to rapidly understand business processes within a given vertical market to assess opportunities my products could fill effectively, and building a business case for the solution. The success of my products has led to revenue increases of up to 1000%.

I also have a proven ability to coach and mentor people and teams to maximize their productivity, even in stressful, low morale situations, with deadlines as short as one week from requirements to customer delivery. The success of my teams has allowed several of my companies to achieve 50% to 100% annual growth.

I have specific experience in Wireless/Mobile/Wireline Telecom dealing with carriers and operators globally, as well as Speech Recognition, Medical/Healthcare, Transportation, Manufacturing, Web/Internet, and general technology, both at the business level and at the deep technology level. I have filed several patents in the telecom area. I also develop software in Java and C/C++, and have written code where necessary to get a product to ship.

My goal is to solve the right customer business problem efficiently and profitably.
