Nice work if you can get it.

Debbye wonders why the Canadian government would give David Dingwall a severance package, especially when he resigned. Especially when there is no severance package in his contract:

Prime Minister Paul Martin's government was accused of cronyism yesterday for considering a severance package for former mint boss David Dingwall whose contract doesn't require one.

A heavily censored copy of Dingwall's remuneration and benefits package, released under Access to Information to Tory MP Brian Pallister and obtained by the Sun, outlines a long list of things Dingwall is entitled to, but there's no category for severance.

Opposition MPs peppered Revenue Minister John McCallum with questions yesterday about why the feds are allowing Dingwall -- who quit his $277,000-a-year post Wednesday amid reports of excess spending on travel, meals and private club memberships -- to get a golden handshake.
