Fear of Buying?

I dropped my Nokia 8260 the other day and cracked the display. Still works, but I can't see what I'm doing. So I'm faced with an ever changing array of phones with all kinds of giveaways and all kinds of plans. Do I want a PDA+phone, or a camera+phone, or just a phone (if such a thing still exists)? And if I buy now, will I miss the next big thing?
