Can he have it both ways?
Cory Doctorow has a couple of requests for 2004. To wit:
"...stop making tools that magnify and multilply awkward social situations..."
"...stop trying to build an Internet without malefactors, parasites, freeriders and inefficiency"
Can you have it both ways? While there are undoubtedly some tool vendors who only have our best interests at heart, many others are just looking for better ways to spam us, or sell us something, or make money from us somehow. And if Cory wants those tool vendors to stop building such tools, then isn't he advocating building an internet without parasites or inefficiency?
